14620Hz

For more than 5 years I am hearing a ringing sound inside my head. It’s a high pitched sound that only I can hear. This is known as tinnitus. The result of this project is an audiovisual installation which shows the frequency range of the human ear and the frequency of my tinnitus which you can hear and see. The project consists of a looping video and looping audio.

14620Hz was shown in January 2017 at the ArtEZ Graphic Design Graduation Show in Arnhem. The installation consisted of three Raspberry Pi Zero’s each connected to a projector and projecting at a 8,0 x 1,1 meter wall. Behind the wall were three speakers sets with each playing their own audio track.
